Vocabulary

Learn multiple words and expressions, even if they do not have an equivalent in your mother tongue. To this end, I must recommend monolingual dictionaries such as Merriam-Webster. It is important that you realise there might not be an exact equivalent for every word in your mother tongue. Therefore, you must make limited use of the traditional vocabulary lists.

A method I strongly recommend to learners is the definitions one. You will be surprised if you start writing down new vocabulary together with a definition in English instead of just writing it in columns with their translation by them. If you are talented, you might consider drawing the concept by the word as well!
