The Canterville Ghost
Oscar Wilde was a great writer. He created many tales we enjoy today. This Irish artist said once about his works: my stories can be read by children from eight to eighty years old. This sentence explains the nature of his tales; everyone, no matter the age, may enjoy them.
For today's activity you must read an adapted version of Oscar Wilde's The Canterville Ghost. I assure you it is a very funny story and quite easy to understand. You will find the PDF document behind this link, as usual. After reading the tale, you must do the activities at the end of the document. Activity number two asks you to read a poem on page eleven. As you can see, there is no page eleven. Therefore, you do not have to do this activity. Doing activities number one and three is enough.
Apart from doing these two activities, you must describe some characters, both their appearance and the clothes they are wearing. These characters are:
- Mr Otis
- Mrs Otis
- Lord Canterville
- The Canterville Ghost
- Virginia
- Washington
- Mrs Umney
- The twins
Remember: you must write them in your notebook.
